Figure of Speech started out as a Lichtenhainer, a traditional German pale smoked sour beer. The beer was then aged in an oak barrel for 16 months with Brettanomyces Bruxellensis to develop further complexity. Finally, it was then refermented on figs, picking up much of the colour and flavour from the fruit, complementing the smokey and sour flavours of the base beer.
