Giant Steps was founded in 1997 by Phil Sexton — a Margaret River native better known for starting Little Creatures Brewing — who headed to the Yarra Valley chasing altitude, cool nights and the kind of sites that make exceptional Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. He named it after the John Coltrane jazz record.
Since 2003, chief winemaker Steve Flamsteed has shaped the house style around Burgundian rigour and single-vineyard expression, sourcing from five distinct sites across the Yarra. The results speak for themselves: Giant Steps was named Halliday's Wine Companion Winery of the Year. Expect precise, site-driven Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from one of Australia's most consistent cool-climate producers.

What is the Wine Club Glass?
