Noval created this category of Port when they bottled the first LBV (Late Bottled Vintage) in 1958. This is a most unusual and exceptional example as it is an unfiltered LBV and is made only with grapes from Noval's legendary vineyard.

It is treated exactly like a Vintage Port, made with only noble grape varieties from the quinta, trodden by foot and unfiltered. The main difference is that it is aged for four, sometimes even five, years in wooden vats instead of the two years typical for Vintage Ports.

The result is a LBV with a difference; layered fruit, fine tannins, great freshness and purity. It is delicious to drink today, but will also continue to age beautifully in its bottle.
