So often in winemaking the saying “less is more” becomes apparent, and this was certainly the case with this dry-grown organically managed Chenin Blanc out of the Swan Valley.

The 2023 Vintage proved to be slightly later than usual with fewer heat waves than the previous vintage. This allowed for longer hang times of fruit on the vines and lovely high natural acidity. Combined with the un-irrigated and well drained sandy gravel soils, the resulting fruit had intense concentration of flavour and only required gentle handling to extract excellent quality juice, which was pressed to older neutral oak for wild fermentation. Left on lees for 9 months before being bottled unfined and ulfiltered.

The resulting wine has gorgeous purity of fruit and lovely texture from the time on lees. A great quality Chenin at a friendly price point!
