TORBRECK - THE BOTHIE

TORBRECK - THE BOTHIE
Torbreck, based in the Barossa Valley, is a renowned producer of Shiraz, Grenache, and Mourvèdre - but did you know they also make a stunning non-vintage fortified?
The Barossa has a long tradition of fortified winemaking, and the Bothie is an excellent example that is only made when the vintage allows, i.e. at optimum ripeness levels.
"Bothie" has Scottish Gaelic origins, meaning a place to stop and rest on a highland trail. So, this is the sort of wine that would be welcomed warmly while taking a break from inclement weather.
With intense aromas of dried stone fruit, butterscotch, spice, and caramel, the palate is equally rich and rounded, with layered notes of dried figs, toasted almonds, and citrus rind.
Whether to share with mates over a crackling fire, or to gift to a special someone, this is a delicious wine to share.
