Each winter the Republic of Fremantle partners with a local winery to release a limited number of Barrel Aged Negroni bottles. The product has a cult following with iterations, much like wine vintages, changing from year to year.
In 2025, RoF partnered with MR BARVAL Fine Wines, a family-owned vineyard and winery in southern Margaret River known for their Nebbiolo and love of Italian culture - a perfect match for the Barrel Aged Negroni program!
This collaboration combines RoF's Full Bodied Gin with a selection of vermouth and amaro before ageing in Mr Barval-soaked wine barrels. To add further layers of complexity, the mix is rounded out with a final dash of Barval's illustrious Nebbiolo.
The result? A bold and elegant Negroni with rich aromatics, citrus bitterness and ripe berry fruit character. At the back of the palate, there is subtle vanilla and fresh tobacco complemented by oak to finish. Delicious from start to finish.
