Grain whiskies sourced from Scotland and Canada are aged in Togouchi's legendary 361-metre railway tunnel — where a constant cool temperature creates ideal maturation conditions — before being finished for three months in sake casks from Sakurao's own brewery. The result is a whisky of remarkable elegance and Japanese refinement. Delicate aromas of white grape, fresh green apple and vanilla lead the nose, while the palate delivers a luscious sweetness of melon and Muscat grape, creamy pear and buttery pastry, with a brightening white-wine acidity reminiscent of the sake itself. The finish is smooth and lingering, with soft floral rice tones, white chocolate and a gentle malty warmth.
