A Bourgogne Blanc from one of Puligny-Montrachet’s leading names, Domaine François Carillon. The family has been making wine in the village since the 16th century, and François now farms about 6.5 hectares of his own. The fruit comes from older vines on clay-limestone soils, including parcels in Puligny and Meursault. The wine is golden and luminous, with ripe yellow peach, pear and lime on the nose over a salty, mineral backdrop. The palate is juicy and fresh, with good acidity and a clean, floral finish. It’s a richer style of Bourgogne Blanc that works well with shellfish, roast chicken, white fish and soft cheeses.
