In March, Taz hand-picked the Tempranillo in a big solo effort before an unexpected rain event. A few days later the Shiraz was hand-picked - two clones (Waldron & 1654 (Barossa clone). The 1654 Shiraz clone gives plumpness and fruit forwardness, accompanied by the intensity and spicier smaller bunches of the Waldron clone. The winemaking ethos was to produce a fruit forward wine.
