ANCARANI - PERLAGIOIA

Ancarini is a small farm (they also grow wheat and make pasta!) located on the Faentine hills, near the fortress of Oriolo, a fortified historical site dating back to 1457, in Romagna. It is run by Claudio Ancarani and the energetic Rita Babini. Claudio is a true vintner who has inherited the passion for wine from his grandfather who cultivated these lands in the 1960s. The farm includes 14 hectares of vines that are found on sandy and rich fossil soils where the indigenous white grape Albana Secco is cultivated. The philosophy of the company is to absolutely respect the environment and the grapes it produces. In vineyard only copper and zinc treatments are used, in the cellar the use of sulfur is minimal and macerations are long to capture the true varietal character of the vines.
