Of the three Chardonnays we have from Gentle Folk, this is the boldest of the lot. Generous stonefruit and citrus flavours, holding up well and in balance to the 11 months of French oak (30% new) used for this single vineyard wine. Located in Basket Range, in the Adelaide Hills, Gareth and Rainbo Belton are producers to watch. Their organically farmed vineyards (with some biodynamic practices) and minimal interventionist winemaking showcase the quality of their fruit and the respect for the land on which they produce these cool-climate, "cool" wines.
