Armagnac Barrel Aged Grape Ale

28 months is a long long time. A beer inspired after a short trip over to the Netherlands three years ago when GL was invited to the De Molen International Beer Festival.
Started off with a blend of 70% beer and 30% chardonnay grape juice, the Armagnac barrels were sourced direct from France and the beer has been sitting at rest ever since. The aging has given this beer a remarkable depth, it blends vinous fruit character with oak richness and spirit complexity. Caramel, dried fruit, subtle spice and grape must intertwine on a smooth, clean, warming palate. If it’s something different you’re chasing, this is for you.
