The wine presents a complex bouquet featuring spices, rum cake, Earl Grey tea, dried cherry, blackberry pie, tobacco, confectionary, and cocoa tones. On the palate, it is delicate yet harmonious, offering flavours of raspberry, red liquorice, damp earth, and minerally rocks.

Mays Canyon is situated on the western edge of the Russian River Appellation, surrounded by redwood trees that provide a protective barrier, warming the vineyard’s climate. The Hugo gravelly loam soils enhance this effect, capturing and retaining daytime heat, which contributes to the wine’s complexity.
