This is a light-bodied and highly attenuated lager beer brewed from 100% barley malt. The German pilsner is the ancestor of the vast majority of beers brewed in the world today, along with its forerunner, the original pilsner from the town of Plzeň (Pilsen) in Czech Bohemia.
