Independent Caol Ila's are rumoured to be drying up. Hiding at the bottom of the cliffs by Port Askaig on Islay’s eastern shore, the distillery has a reputation for producing smoky, maritime whiskies of elegance and poise. This one yielded a total of 600 bottles from a 'butt'. Sherry-forward with flavours of burnt toffee, cough sweets and lemon oil with cloves, cinnamon and peat smoke. 61.2% Alc./Vol. Non-chill filtered.

Fresh and coastal with prominent bonfire smoke, lemon drizzle cake, and sweet vanilla. Peat smoke, sea salt, citrus (lemons and limes), ripe pears, and warming spices like cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg.
