Laizhou STR Red Wine Cask Single Malt Whisky is a partially peated single malt whisky produced by the Laizhou Distillery in China.
Shaved, Toasted, and Re-charred. Red wine casks are scraped down to fresh wood, toasted to caramelize natural sugars, and re-charred. This technique (pioneered by late whisky expert Dr. Jim Swan) helps balance intense wine-fruit flavors with warm, spicy oak.
