DUCRU-BEAUCAILLOU - SAINT-JULIEN LE PETIT DUCRU

Classified as 2nd growth in the 1855 classifications Ducru-Beacaillou counts itself amongst the finest producers on the left bank. Beaucraillou translates to 'beautiful stones' in reference to the gravel and quartz pebbles of the soils of Saint Julien, with the Ducru family (the second owners of the vineyards in the 18th century) adding their name to the moniker to give the estate it's name today. The estate has been in the hands of the Borie family since 1942 which has been behind the consistent rise in quality of the wines. In 2018 the estate began conversion to organic viticulture.

The wine exhibits blackberry and blueberry aromas with black licorice and dark violets that follow to a medium to full body with ultra fine tannins and a pretty finish.
