The 2023 ‘X02’ Syrah from Margaret River is largely whole cluster with whole berries and carbonic fermentation. Maturation in old oak with medium dark cherry and vibrant red edge. Nose has lifted, whole cluster perfume and a slight green edge from stalks. The palate is juicy but fresh with expressive violets, dark sappy cherries and length. Slightly chilled would be ideal for such a perfumed wine.
